Rick Moore & Mr. Lucky *Live*In*The*USA*
House Rockin' * Talk To Me * Good Woman Bad * Make Lovin' You My Business * Chicken House Blues * I Wanna Get Funky * Let Me Down Easy * Swingin' Her Stuff
Here's the CD that allows ya to go out to a great club... without ever leaving the farm! This tidy little project was recorded in ONE night at Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar, then mixed and also edited here in Nashville. And the "mix" is one of the finest I've ever heard! I mean, you hear the "audience" but they're pulled back just enough so that we can focus on the artist and songs. And speaking of songs... Rick Moore wrote and/or co-wrote six of the nine tracks on this astonishingly clean LIVE album!
Truly a "Home Boy" who's made good... Rick Moore grew up in Bolivar, Tennessee (65 miles east of Memphis). During the 1970's and 80's, he toured with a diversity of groups playing everything from the country/rock of The Amazing Rhythm Aces, to the R&B of Mink (Willie) Deville. By the late 80's, he left the road for several years to concentrate on his songwriting/publishing interests. It was during that musical hiatus that Nashville's Music City Blues Society was born, and Moore not only joined, but signed on as an "Executive Member," a status he still maintains.
In 1996, he formed Mr. Lucky Records in Nashville to record "Blues Co-Op," a combination of Music City Blues performers who needed an outlet. That CD, on which Rick served as executive producer, garnered rave reviews from blues and rock publications!
But, apparently Moore began to miss performing. "I've been writing songs for as long as I can remember," says Rick. So, in 1997 he once again entered the music scene. Moore and guitarist/producer Jimmy Nalls (Sea Level, Dr. John, The Nighthawks) went in the studio to record Rick's own full-length CD. The result was Slow Burnin' Fire, a smoking 13-song set, featuring ten songs written or co-written by Moore.
And THIS latest album is also smoking! Frankly, the Band is great, and Moore has remarkable, soulfull, vocal and writing talents! I was totally impressed!
